Police are still searching for a man who reportedly fired on them before the vehicle in which he and another were travelling crashed in Ocho Rios, St Ann.
One man was found dead in the Toyota Axio that crashed near the market and Transport centre in Ocho Rios, just before midday Thursday, February 16.
His identity has not been released. Repeated calls to the CCU up to 8:30 p.m. to get details about the incident were met with responses that they ware still awaiting information.
However, North Coast Times was informed that police spotted the vehicle which they suspected was involved in a robbery in the resort town on Sunday. They signalled the men to stop but came under fire near the police station. The vehicle with the men aboard lost control and mounted a heap of building material and crashed. One man crawled from the vehicle and jumped over a wall and escaped. The other man, with bullet wounds, was removed from the vehicle and pronounced dead at hospital.
Here’s a video of the dead man being taken to a police car.
