Police are likely to charge a member of staff of the NCB Ocho Rios branch with fraud today, following a question and answer session in the presence of her attorney.
Attorney-at-law Bert Samuels is representing the wealth advisor who was arrested last week Thursday on allegations that she defrauded a customer’s account of some $5 million or more than US$30,000.
Reports are that the NCB staff member deducted various sums of money from the account of one of the clients she was advising how to make more money on his account. It is alleged that the staff member went into the customer’s account several times between July and October 2022 and transferred the sums to her account and that of family members.
Police say the investigations are ongoing and would determine if there were additional amounts defrauded.
The advisor is to be interviewed Monday at 11 and could be charged later the same day.
