3 charged in Ochi robbery

 

Police have arrested and charged three men in connection with a robbery in Ocho Rios, St Ann.

Police said the three were involved in holding up a couple and robbing a woman of her bag with personal items, along the Bull Point main road, near the Reynolds Pier.

Charged with robbery with aggravation, assault at common-law, illegal possession of firearm and conspiracy to robbery are: 21-year-old Romaine Bryan, a labourer, 24-year-old Oshane Jackson, a labourer and 25-year-old Tevin Stewart, a tractor operator, all of Pimento Walk, Ocho Rios, St. Ann.

Reports from the St. Ann’s Bay Police are that about 8:45 a.m., Sunday October 16, the complainants were walking along the roadway, when they were pounced upon by Jackson who pulled a firearm. He robbed one of the complainant’s of a bag containing a pair of diamond earrings valued US$1,000 (J$150,000) Jackson was then picked up in a motor vehicle by Bryan and Stewart. A report was made to the police and Stewart was arrested driving the said vehicle. Jackson and Bryan later turned themselves in to the police. On October 27, all three men were pointed out during an identification parade, and were charged. Their court date is being finalised.
