Massive Cocaine Find at St Mary Airport

Police seized cocaine worth nearly J$4 billion Friday night at the Ian Fleming International Airport in St Mary.
Reports are that about 7 o’clock Friday evening, detectives from the Narcotics Division, along with their colleagues from the Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Division (C-TOC), and US law enforcement conducted a raid at the airport.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey in charge of crime said 500 kilos of cocaine with a value of US$25million was seized. No one was arrested
This is believed to be the largest ever drug seizure in Jamaica.
Police sources indicate that the drugs were part of the business of a syndicate.
The Ian Fleming Airport at Boscobel has only recently been receiving international commercial flights and recently received bad news that scheduled American Airlines flights from Miami were to be postponed from a November start to next year April, at earliest.
