Bebe shot dead

Kenley Lloyd Stephens, 30- more popularly known as Bebe’ was shot and killed by at his home in Coral Garden on Sunday evening. Reports are that Bebe and two other men were leaving his house on Winchester Terrace about 8:45 Sunday evening and were walking toward his car, when a man jumped out of shrubbery in the yard. The man fired at least ten rounds, five of which hit Bebe who died on the spot. The popular Montegonian was last seen by many on Labour Day, Friday May 23, in the company of Member of Parliament Sharon Folkes Abrahams, and Councillor Michael Troupe working on a Labour Day project at the Granville police station in St James. He was a controversial personality who drew strong emotions from those who knew him and was once a political activist. Stephens, who was said to be involved in several businesses, originated in Granville, St James. And the PNP responded with a release to the death of Bebe saying the news was received with regret.“It was with regret that we received the news of the death of Kenrick “Bebe” Stephenson, vice chairman of our organization in West Central St James. We extend our condolences to his friends and family and to the West Central St. James organization. The news of the murder of anyone anywhere in Jamaica is always saddening,” the PNP said. The party said Stephenson was in attendance at Sunday’s Regional Executive Council in Montego Bay and has been an active member of the machinery in that region since his days in the youth organization.
