2 charged for $2-M ganja in Boscobel

A man and a woman have been slapped with charges after ganja valued at over two million dollars was found in an abandoned house in Boscobel, St Mary last week.

Those charged are: 37-year-old Clarence Richard and Tamara Brown, 37, both of Boscobel, in the parish.

They are to appear in the St Mary Parish Court on Tuesday, July 11 to answer charges of possession of ganja and dealing in ganja.

In a release issued by the JCF’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), they said that detectives attached to the St. Mary Narcotics Division seized 357 pounds of compressed ganja along Gully Road, Boscobel in St. Mary on Thursday, July 6.

Reports are that about 2:30 a.m., during an operation, an abandoned building was searched and a bag with compressed ganja was found.

The ganja has an estimated street value of Jamaican $2,142,000.

Richard and Brown were arrested in relation to the seizure.
