One of the two men charged for the 2015 murder of a St Ann teen had his bail extended when he appeared before parish judge Andrea Thomas in the St Ann Parish Court on Friday, January 27.

Miguel Bailey is the man who was charged along with, the now deceased Carl Tyme, for the murder of Javon Nugent of Sturge Town, St. Ann in October.

His co-accused Tyme was stabbed and killed while in police custody late last year. Tyme also went by many aliases such as ‘Carl Wilson’, ‘Triple Six’, ‘666’ or ‘Wildlife’. His name is still listed in the court system as Carl Wilson.

Although Tyme can no longer appear before the court, Judge Thomas informed the court that the matter is a joint matter and still has to be treated as such, in compliance with the Committal Proceedings Act (CPA). She says a statement will have to be given on the day of trial as it relates to the fate of Tyme.

The crown is still awaiting proof of death for Tyme.

Bailey is expected to reappear in court on May 8, when the case is expected to make more progress.

Preparations are being made for the matter to be traversed to the Circuit Court.

Reports from the police are that on Wednesday, September 30, a group of men attacked three persons, one of whom was Nugent, in Runaway Bay, St. Ann.

It is alleged that one of the attackers used a golf club to hit Nugent in the head, causing him to become unconscious. Nugent died the following day October 1, in hospital.
