ST ANN PNP CANDIDATES FAIL TO SIGN POLITICAL CODE OF CONDUCT

The People’s National Party (PNP) candidates boycotted the signing of the code of conduct in St Ann today, Tuesday, November 22.

However, all Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) and independent candidates were present and signed the declaration.

It was revealed in subsequent reports that the PNP’s action was as a result of political conflict.

Thirty-six persons from sixteen divisions were expected to participate in the signing of the adherence to the agreement and declaration on political conduct on Tuesday morning at the St Ann Parish Church Hall in St Ann’s Bay.

Of the thirty-six candidates only seventeen completed the signing of the agreement and declaration.

Present were Norma Walters, custos; Rev. Carlton Mullings of the Northview Church of Christ in Ocho Rios; Claudiah Carter, acting CEO of the St Ann municipal corporation of St Ann; Supt Gary Francis, divisional commander of the JCF and Pixley Irons, president of the St Ann chamber of commerce among party supporters and campaign directors.
