The Ocho Rios Card Centre hosted their inaugural Social & Wellness Fair at Turtle River Park on Sunday, October 30.
Spearheading the day’s activities and the celebration of their tenth year of charitable service was owner and creator of the Ocho Rios Card Centre Limited, Patricia Wisdom. The fair was focused on health, fitness and charity and came with lots of entertainment.
Guided by a theme of wellness, there were medical professionals doing blood sugar, blood pressure test and eye examinations.
Several booths set up on the grounds provided services and promotional literature about health and other activities. Among the booth holders were: Facey Commodity Co Ltd, Mitchell’s Pizza, Ro-net Printing Company, National Health Fund (NHF), Lasco Financial Services, North East Regional Health Authority, Wizzy’s Culinary and Nurses, Beautiful Plants showcased by Mr. Spencer and Mr. & Mrs. Clemetson, Derek Hayle’s Wellness &Aphrodisiacs, as well as Bus Stop Missionary and Heritage Education. There were lots of prizes and giveaways courtesy of JN Money Transfer, Swift Cash Transfer Services, Lasco Financial Services, The ORCC Ltd, FLOW and TEPins Ltd and DIGICEL.
Major sponsors of the event were DIGICEL for the entertainment and stage and the Kiddies corner by FLOW.
The fair was one of several events put on as part of the tenth anniversary of the Ocho Rios Card Centre Ltd. The thanksgiving church service was held at the Ocho Rios Anglican Church, followed by a brunch and awards ceremony at the Casa De Shalom, on Sunday, October 9.
Staff was awarded for their years of service, excellence in customer service, attendance, punctuality and patience. Staff of the year was Natalie Mullings who won a weekend for two, and a plaque.
There were several activities for the day, including face painting and dancing competition and a kiddies’ village. Myers Fitness Centre demonstrated their fitness routines and how to keep fit.
Additionally, there was entertainment to accompany the day’s events, including music, dancing, and a raffle. Rapt attention was paid to magician Kemarch ‘Wizard’ Dodd, who wowed and intrigued onlookers with his tricks when he took the stage. Each of his illusions served to pull more persons to his performance.
Despite the inclement weather the turnout was splendid. The management of The Ocho Rios Card Centre Ltd expresses gratitude to those sponsors who supported the celebration and extends special thanks to their hardworking and dedicated staff.
