A man charged with unlawful wounding was sentenced to one year in prison when he appeared before the St Ann Parish court on, Wednesday, October 5.
He is Damion Rose who had a case of similar nature before the court in 2014 and also has another matter in court now. Details of the matter were not mentioned but it had been heard in court before last Wednesday.
Judge Wilson told Rose his criminal and community record were bad and it “doesn’t look good”.
As a result of Rose’s criminal history, Judge Wilson came to the conclusion that his (Rose’s) story in the matter about acting in self defense was not to be believed.
He was sentenced to one year in prison.
“I couldn’t have given him six months for this charge, it was a decision between one year or two and I chose one” Judge Wilson said.
