A man is being sought for questioning by the St Mary police in relation to a triple murder in the parish three weeks ago.
He is 29-year-old Charles Hamilton, alias ‘Tuggy Tuggy.’
According to head of the St Mary police, DSP Dwight Powell, they believe that Hamilton can assist with information into the triple murder in Annotto Bay, St Mary that occurred on Thursday, September 8.
Those killed are: 62-year-old labourer Albert Pryce, otherwise called ‘Ali’ of Annotto Bay, St. Mary, 25-year-old Rushell Williams, bartender and her daughter, eight-month-old Aleair Sewell of Swift River, Portland.
“We are appealing to him (Charles Hamilton) to turn himself over to the nearest police… He can even seek the assistance from the station pastors in turning himself into the police,” DSP Powell explained.
In the meantime, Hamilton is also being sought for escaping the custody of the Islington police on August 11.
Hamilton was awaiting sentencing on September 15 in the Home Circuit Court on a charge of shooting with intent after he was found guilty in the St Mary Circuit Court in July.
Meanwhile, DSP Powell urged the residents of the Annotto Bay community to assist the police with any information in making a breakthrough with the triple murder.
“We are still appealing to the residents of especially Annotto Bay or wherever in St Mary to assist us with any information to bring a speedy resolution to that investigation in Annotto Bay,” he said.
DSP Powell was speaking following a peace march in the Jeffery Town community in the parish on Tuesday, September 27, to reassure residents following a murder in that area two weeks ago.
