The ‘Called to Push Ministry’, from the Devine Church of God in Ocho Rios St. Ann, has completed its fourth project of developing infrastructure within the parish.
For quite some time, the construction of a new building was on the agenda of the Exchange All Age School’s PTA. This building was needed in order to accommodate a new subject, Industrial Arts in the school’s curriculum. They were, however, faced with the challenge of a lack of funds and resources.
President of the ministry, Pastor Nicholas Hutchinson along with president of the Exchange All Age PTA, Pastor Dennis Taylor saw the need and ventured on a mission to assist.
A number of sponsors came on board to render assistance, as well as, including the Devine Catering team which hosted a luncheon to purchase building materials. Their goal came to fruition during the last week of August and they were able to build an industrial arts classroom, a storage room, donate 50 desks and twostanding fans for the classroom.
Minister Hutchinson told the North Coast Times that he was inspired to take on the challenge because of the ‘vessel of love’ within the ministry and the duty of “Moving beyond the pulpit and the walls of the church.”
Called to Push Ministry also reaches out to young people and their spiritual wellbeing by doing devotion in schools. The Ministry extended thanks to carpenter Norval Small who worked assiduously, and to all the sponsors who made the project a success. The Ministry will take on their next mission by the end of 2016.
