Police seized 1,700 pounds of ganja valued at seven million dollars in St Ann, Wednesday (Sept 21).
According to the police, operatives attached to the Narcotics Division seized one Go-fast 30-ft boat, laden with ganja off the coast of Drax Hall on Wednesday.
Reports are that about 10:00 a.m., the Narcotics and Marine Police at sea carried out an operation in the Drax Hall area where the search of a boat yielded thirty-eight knitted bags containing ganja. The drug weighed approximately 1,700 pounds and had an estimated value of J$7 million.
The boat, two 250-horse power engines, gallons of petrol, items of food, and other equipment used at sea were also seized.
No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.
Investigations continue.
