The body of an unidentified male was found in a section of the Orange Park community, near Golden Grove in St Ann on Tuesday morning, September 20.
The body was found at about 6:30 a.m. on the Orange Park main road.
According to head of crime in the parish, DSP Richard Hylton, the male had gunshot wounds to the head.
DSP Hylton also stated that the male might be from the Corporate Area and may have been killed in the parish.
In the meantime, head of the St Ann police, SSP Wayne Cameron explained that 36 murders have so far been committed in the parish since the start of the year.
This figure represents an increase of six when compared to the 30 murders committed during the same period last year.
However, SSP Cameron said the police were remaining confident that the murder figure by the end of the year will be less than last year.
St Ann recorded 41 murders last year.
