Medical ready in case of woman accused of throwing chemical in her dad’s eyes

A medical certificate that is crucial in the case of a woman, who is alleged to have thrown chemicals in the face of her father, is to ready to be collected.

The chemical that was thrown in the man’s eyes has caused major damage.

The woman, Claudette Ferrigan, appeared before the St Ann Parish Court on Tuesday, August 23.

She is charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.

The crown prosecutor told parish judge Vaughn Facey that the medical certificate is now ready and is to be collected at the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH).

The statements in the matter have not yet complied with the new Committal Proceedings Act (CPA).

When Judge Facey enquired about the whereabouts of the complainant, Glen Ferrigan, the father of the accused woman, he was told that due to the severe injuries to Ferrigan’s eyes, he was ordered not to attend court until it was necessary for him to do so.

In the meantime, the accused woman, Claudette Ferrigan, had her bail extended until September 12.

The case will again be mentioned at that time.

The allegations are that in June of 2015, there was a family dispute. It is alleged that the accused woman, Claudette Ferrigan was cleaning the bathroom, when she used an unknown chemical substance and threw it in the face of the complainant, her father, Glen Ferrigan.

Since the incident, the man has been in and out of the hospital with injuries to both of his eyes that has left him without much eyesight. He has also undergone several surgeries.chemicals
