Man charged for ripping off ATM

A man accused of withdrawing some $880,000 from several accounts at an ATM in St Ann’s Bay has been slapped with a number of charges by St Ann police.Charged is 31-year-old Levar Henry of Mammee Bay in the parish.Head of St Ann police, Supt Wayne Cameron told The Times that Henry was observed earlier this month hooking up an electronic device to an ATM at one of the reputable financial institutions in the parish capital. Police say their investigations indicated that Henry entered more than 20 accounts and stole money from them.When police arrested Henry they said they seized $121,000 in cash.Henry was arrested December 9 and charged a week later, Weednesday, Dec 16 under the Law Reform Fraudulent Conversion Act, theCyber Crimes Act and the Larceny and Forgery Act. He was charged with simple larceny and 28 counts of unauthorized access to computer data, obtaining money by false pretence and conspiracy to defraud.atmThe files were submitted to court last Friday but up to press time The Times could not determine if Henry had been taken to court.
