Boscobel score big win, Wilderness too, in St. Mary T20 Big Bash

cricket 1Champions Boscobel opened their defence of the St. Mary Cricket Association Maurice Clarke T20 Big Bash by spanking Oxford by 149 runs at Boscobel Oval recently. In other matches played, Port Maria defeated newcomers Beaches/Sandals Ocho Rios, Police stopped Trinity Land, Wilderness battered Mango Valley, while Galina defeated White Hall.Batting first, Boscobel amassed 256 -1 off their allotted 20 overs, with Alwayne Williams smashing an unbeaten 110 not out. He was well supported by Domain Wilson 52, and Robert Ware 40, not out.Oxford were skittled out for 149 off 15 overs, with Fitzroy Howell 33 and Timone Haye 34 the top scorers, against Herman Henry 3 for 20 and Andaine Bennett 2 for 18.In the opening encounter at Boscobel Oval, Port Maria defeated Beaches/Sandals Ocho Rios by 4 wickets. Batting first, the hotelmen could only muster 115 off their 20 overs, with Michael Downer top scoring with 35, while Tajae Earle chipped in with 23.Port Maria cruised to 126-6 off 14.2 overs, with Richard Creary the main scorer on 40, while Aldane Thomas made 25, against the bowling of Earle who took 2-8.At Galina Oval, White Hall scored 127-5, thanks to Kevin Gray 25. Paul Bryan took 2 for 19. In their turn at the crease, Galina made 128-7 off 17.5 overs. Shawn Spencer was the mainstay of the innings, striking 25 runs.Wilderness were in top form against Mango Valley, rattling up 233 without loss, with Andre Bryce scoring 158, the top score of the round. He was well supported by Renar Ross 55. Mango Valley were bowled out for 142.Over at trinity Land, Police made 135-5 off 15 overs, thanks to Mickail Downer 49 and Renford Pinnock 43, against the bowling of Leon McDonald 2 for 15. Trinity Land could only manage 130 for 9 off their 15 overs, with Damion Graham making 55. Christopher Faulknor took 2 for 11.Competition, which is sponsored by L.P.
