Pain in family as Ralph McFarlane laid to rest

Family members and friends came out in their numbers to bid farewell to the late Ralph McFarlane, affectionately called Kah/ Turtle and Plug Mouth.The twenty-six-year old chef was laid to rest on the eve of his birthday, Saturday, January 10, 2015 following thanksgiving service at the Assemblies of the First Born Church, Three Hills, St. Mary. Officiating minister was Newton Pottinger.Several musical tributes were done the Alabama Chefs, Charles Town Skills Training, Celebrity Cruise, Prospect Meadows Day Care and Pre-school, among others.First lessons was read by Anastacia Hinds and remembrance by Deann McFarlane. She remembered her little brother as a sociable young man , fun loving and reliable.She described his passing as  “a light from the household is gone”Eulogy was read by Pastor Devon McFarlane. Ralph was remembered as courteous, quiet, jovial, he was highly respected in his community and workplace.He was described as a promising young man who had a passion for the food industry which led him to become a chef.All his plans were ended on the tragic day of December 17, 2014. McFarlane was killed during an alleged dispute at his baby mother’s home in Mango Valley, St Mary where he was staying for a few weeks. Police have been seeking a relative of the woman in connection with the death.The McFarlane family is having a hard time coping with the death. Father of the deceased, Neville McFarlane was unable to attend the funeral service for his beloved son as he was hospitalized the evening before the funeral, suffering from a mild heart attack.The pall bearers marched with the casket from the church to the family plot where he was laid to rest.
