WHO IS LEADING ST ANN’S BAY HOSPITAL?

hospital

The Editor,

Sir,

For months now, the St Ann’s Bay Hospital has been giving poor service. Your paper carried more than one story of complaint about attitude of workers and the long wait of people seeking treatment.

Just recently, The Times paper reported some other events there about a man who broke a pane of glass at the hospital because he was frustrated.

Then, a national paper (Sunday Gleaner) reported horror stories from that same place where people should be getting care and health assistance.

Yet, no one has gone to the real solution. The chairman of the health authority (North East Regional Health Authority)  is chairman of so many big institutions in St Ann that there appears no leadership in the parish or party takes prominence over everything else.

I ask you, Mr Editor, if Leon Gordon has time for three other big boards that he chairs, plus the NERHA. Is there no other competent, qualified people in the parish that needs to get its main hospital facility up to scratch. Possibly Mr Gordon is too burdened by Moneague College which has its own problems to place attention on NERHA and the hospital that requires a radical change in personnel and attitude and is truly short of money.
