CURFEWS CONTINUE IN SECTIONS OF ST MARY

Latest Extension of Security Measure for Islington and Retreat Ends Thursday

PORT MARIA, St Mary; Oct. 7, 2026

Several sections of Retreat and Islington, St Mary, remain under curfew that was extended on Tuesday evening, October 6, 2026.

Curfews have been running and have been extended for weeks now in some of the areas around Islington, in south-east St Mary and for several days in Retreat in western St Mary.

The curfew in sections of Islington has been extended by 48 hours from  6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6, to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 8 at 6 p.m.

The curfew in Retreat was extended by the same time, to end at 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 8.

During the hours of the curfew, persons within its boundaries are required to remain indoors unless otherwise authorised by the person in charge of enforcing the curfew.

In ISLINGTON, the boundaries of the curfew are as follows:

North: From the Baccasswood community in the vicinity of the Zion Hill main road, extending east through a vegetated section of the Strawberry Field community.

East: From a vegetated section of the Strawberry Fields community, extending south through a vegetated section of the Rosend community.

South: From a vegetated section of the Rosend community, extending west along the Rosend main road and continuing towards the White Hall main road.

West: From the White Hall main road in the vicinity of the entrance to the Islington community, extending north to the back entrance of the Baccasswood community in the vicinity of the Zion Hill main road.

IN RETREAT

The boundaries of the curfew are as follows:

NORTH: From the Prospect Gulf main road in the vicinity of the Charles Town Road intersection, extending east to the Spring Valley main road in the vicinity of Valley Bush Crossing.

EAST: From the Spring Valley main road in the vicinity of Valley Bush Crossing, extending south to a vegetated area in Retreat Content.

SOUTH: From a vegetated area in Retreat Content, extending west to a section of Three Hills near the Liberty Estate Housing Scheme.

WEST: From a section of Three Hills near the Liberty Estate Housing Scheme, extending north to the Prospect Gulf main road in the vicinity of the Charles Town Road intersection.
