MARLIN TOURNAMENT STARTS WITH REDUCED PARTICIPATION

‘Nuh Reely’ to Defend Mayberry Superstars of Port Antonio Title

PORT ANTONIO, Portland; Oct. 8, 2026

The 9th Mayberry Superstars of Port Antonio Marlin Tournament sailed off at 7:30 Thursday morning, October 8, 2026, with twelve boats participating.

The tournament was affected by indecision regarding whether it would be held this year, but the organizers, with encouragement from the anglers, kept the date. They got it going Thursday morning with two international boats: one from the Cayman Islands, “Brac Rebel,” and the other from Honduras, “Changed My Mind,” with Governor Ken McNabb.

Initially, 19 boats were expected. Tournament director Robert “Bobby” Stewart said the tournament was scaled down because of uncertainties. He said younger people would be trained to run the tournament.

Stewart also said they had expected two other boats from  Cayman. However, he said among the registered boats were one from Honduras and one from Cayman.
