OCHO RIOS, St Ann; September 19, 2026
Authorities are reportedly investigating an incident involving members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) following allegations surrounding the release of two motorcycles and a subsequent arrangement for the collection of cash.
Information reaching the North Coast Times is that a police constable attached to the St Ann Division reportedly intercepted a motorist who was in possession of two motorcycles.
It is alleged that following the interception, contact was made with the person identified as the owner of the motorcycles and an arrangement made for money to be paid and the motorcycles released.
The bikes were released on the understanding that a bribe would be paid.
Further allegations are that arrangements were later made for the agreed amount to be collected. Two student constables were asked to carry out the collection.

At the time of writing, it remained unclear whether the student constables were aware of the circumstances surrounding the money they had been asked to collect.
The two student constables were subsequently intercepted in connection with the matter.
The constable alleged to be at the centre of the incident has not yet been taken into custody, but is said to be the subject of further investigative action.
The North Coast Times will provide you with any update when it becomes available.
