EDGEHILL SPECIAL EDUCATION SCHOOL, ST ANN, BENEFITS FROM EDUCATIONAL SUPPLIES

Students of Edgehill School of Special Education, St Ann’s Bay, St Ann, are benefiting from educational supplies and encouragement as they undertake the new school year.
The supplies and uplifting words were provided at a Back-to-School Treat hosted by the St Ann Chapter of the Jamaica Association of Administrative Professionals (JAAP), with support from Jamaica Bauxite Mining Limited (JBM) and Lannaman & Morris Shipping.

Supplies, presented at a recent function at the school that caters for special needs students in St Ann’s Bay, included pencils, crayons, glue, whiteboard markers and other learning materials for classroom activities. Students also enjoyed refreshments and entertainment.
In her greetings, Sharon Williams, Chairman of the JAAP St Ann Chapter’s Civic Committee, thanked the sponsors for their support. “Your generosity and your belief in these children are what turned intention into impact,” she said.
Donna Marie Howe, Managing Director of JBM and Runner-up All Island Boss of the Year 2026/2027, emphasized that meaningful development begins with investment in people, particularly children and young people.

She expressed the hope that the supplies would ease the burden on parents and guardians while helping students participate meaningfully in the classroom. She also commended JAAP’s community work and highlighted JBM’s longstanding relationship with Edgehill.
Dwayne Thompson, Senior Supervisor, Cruise and Outports at Lannaman & Morris Shipping, represented the company and its CEO, Charmaine Maragh.
Principal Tabitha Chambers thanked the Chapter and its corporate partners for their continued support of Edgehill and its students.
Established in November 1975, the St. Ann Chapter of the Jamaica Association of Administrative Professionals (JAAP) is dedicated to advancing administrative excellence through professional development, education, and community service.
