CHRISTINA WILLIAMS, MISS JAMAICA FESTIVAL QUEEN, WAS BIG FAVOURITE ON THE NIGHT AND TOOK FOUR SECTIONAL PRIZES

Miss Jamaica Festival Queen 2026 is Christina Williams, a 28-year-old lawyer who represented Portland in the contest, with the winner crowned Saturday night, August 1, 2026.
The winner from Portland took four sectional prizes: Most Culturally Aware, Most Poised, and also won for Community Involvement and Best Dress.

. It was the first time this century that Portland was winning the national contest, having last won it through Greggor Fong in 1999.
Ms Williams, a Titchfield High graduate, was an early favourite on the night, and when it came down to the last three, there were supporters on line and in the audience saying she was the winner.
The belief grew, with some calling our “Portland” in the build-up to the announcement of the winner being made at the National Indoor Sports Centre, Kingston.
The newly crowned Miss Jamaica Festival Queen 2026 is a development advisor and head of Information Privacy and Protection at the Jamaica National Heritage Trust.
She was presented with the trophy by Speaker of the House Juliet Holness and with a cheque for $800,000 in cash by Culture Minister Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange.
The new Festival Queen encouraged people to step out in faith, do the hard work and believe in themselves. Ms Williams, in an interview, said she was ready to get to work as Festival Queen, as she wanted to reach every nook and cranny, hill and gully, and help the young to empower themselves.

Ms Williams said she decided to enter the competition as a way of continuing her service to community and country. She said it was difficult having to make it from Kingston, where she worked to the preparation and training sessions for the Portland contest, but she felt it was worth it.
