Reports are that about 6 a.m. Thursday, Fennell was out on the veranda at the friend’s house and then went outside the building when explosions were heard.

Police who were close by, going on an operation, responded to the explosions and saw Fennell on the ground, with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head. A Glock pistol was seen lying beside him.

He was pronounced dead at hospital.

Police say, according to their reports, Fennell related to his friend that he was experiencing issues involving a female.

Other reports said police in Manchester had called Fennel asking him to come into a station there on Wednesday. That’s after a 40-year-old pharmacy technician, Kedecia McLeod, was reported missing. Fennel was said to have been among the last people to see her before she disappeared.

Reports Thursday morning said a body believed to be that of Ms McLeod was discovered on the roadway in St Elizabeth.

Police have not made any statement connecting Fennel to McLeod or her disappearance.
