Free on the lawns of historic Rio Nuevo Village, St Mary
Truth seekers, lovers of current affairs and history and independent thinkers are in for a treat when Mutabaruka and Kabu link up for ‘Reasoning’ at Rio Nuevo Village in St Mary, Sunday afternoon, May 31, 2026.
The event is billed as ‘582 Hz Live’ and is to offer reasoning, poetry, art and truth speakers.
At centre stage are Mutabaruka and Kabu, two of the best-known independent broadcasters in Jamaica. Both have decades-long running shows on Irie FM.
In fact, after listening to Kabu’s Running African on Sunday morning, you can get prepared for ‘Reasoning’.
The well-respected and brilliant Professor Verene Shepherd, social historian, is opening the series, which is being facilitated by David Wilson, owner and operator of the Rio Nuevo Village.

The venue is the lawns of the historic Rio Nuevo Village, a beautiful site fringed by river and sea with fun attractions and a Tiano museum.

The event is free and runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, May 31. To get to the Village, turn at the gas station on the main road at Rio Nuevo. It’s 400 yards from there.
