PORT MARIA, St Mary; May 23, 2026
Ten people including at least four children were injured in road crashes in St Mary between Thursday evening and Friday mid-day.
In the first collision, seven including children were injured along Marking Stone Main Road, Annotto Bay, St. Mary on Thursday evening, May 22, 2026.
Preliminary investigations indicate that at about 8:10 p.m. Thursday, a motor car travelling from the direction of Dover towards Annotto Bay reportedly lost control, ran off the roadway, and crashed into a shop. The establishment was closed at the time of the incident and no additional injuries were reported at the location.
The driver and six occupants sustained varying levels of injuries and were transported to the Annotto Bay Hospital for treatment.
RIO NUEVO
And, in the other incident three people including two children, were injured following a motor vehicle collision along the Rio Nuevo Main Road in the vicinity of the Rubis Service Station on Friday, May 22, 2026.

The collision occurred shortly after midday and involved a motor truck and a motor car. The police say preliminary reports indicate that the occupants of the motor car sustained injuries during the incident and were transported to the hospital for medical treatment.
Those injured were an adult female and two children.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding both collisions are ongoing.
Road users are being encouraged to practise defensive driving, obey speed limits, wear seat belts, avoid distractions while driving, and ensure that children are properly secured in vehicles.
“We want persons to realise that even where speed is not the direct cause of a crash, it significantly increases the force of impact and the likelihood of serious injury or loss of life when collisions occur.”
