5 MEN WERE INVOLVED IN KILLING 72-Y-O IN PYRAMID HEIGHTS
OCHO RIOS, St Ann; May 11, 2026
The St Ann police have charged a man from Clarendon in the murder of a 72-year-old retiree in Ocho Rios more than 18 months ago.
Charged with murder is 23-year-old Ashan Gallimore of Rectory Road, May Pen, Clarendon.
The charge arose out of the death of 72-year-old Allan Rattigan, a retiree of Pyramid Point, Ocho Rios, St. Ann, on Monday, November 18, 2024.
Reports from the St. Ann’s Bay Police are that at about 10:00 p.m., Rattigan’s caregiver stumbled upon his body with his hands and feet bound. The police were alerted, and Rattigan was taken to the hospital, where his death was confirmed.
Investigations later revealed that Rattigan had reportedly invited Gallimore and four other men to his home. The North Coast Times was told that the men were being recruited in connection with repairs to be done on Rattigan’s house.
Police said during the visit, an altercation allegedly developed, during which Rattigan was strangled. An undetermined quantity of jewellery, shoes and other personal items, and a black cellular phone belonging to Rattigan were reportedly stolen during the incident.
According to police, Gallimore was arrested and subsequently charged after investigators obtained a recorded statement implicating him in the crime. Police said Gallimore was the second man charged in connection with the murder
He is scheduled to appear before the court to answer to the charges on Friday, October 9.
