Research Day at the Moneague College on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, provided a varied experience for hundreds of students, faculty of the College, and community members, as well as dozens of students from nearly 10 high schools and colleges in attendance.
Among those in attendance were students and staff from: Discovery Bay, Dinthill Technical and Herbert Morrison high schools; College of Agriculture Science and Education,  Shortwood Teachers’ College, Church Teachers’ College, St Joseph’s Teachers’ College, EXED,  GC Foster College, and the Mico University College.

Following the opening session, where the importance of research was underscored by, among others, keynote speaker Professor Andre Haughton, attendees viewed the displays of student-led research projects.

(Ready to go)
There were also more than two dozen dissertations and research papers presented in simultaneous sessions across campus. The presentations, which covered a wide area of scholarship, were delivered by Moneague College lecturers plus others from several tertiary institutions, including Church Teachers’ College, the Mico University College, and Excelsior Community College.

Two of the more exciting student projects displayed food sustainability and creativity – one from the School of Hospitality and Tourism offering a range of interesting sweet potato products (tacos, cheese balls, punch); and the other from the Climate Smart Agro-processing programme offering tastings of goat milk chocolate ice-cream, ackee puree, and pineapple relish.
