ANNOTTO BAY, St Mary; March 13, 2026

A minister of religion is among three people charged following a hold-up and armed robbery in St Mary on Saturday morning, March 7, 2026.

The pastor from Kingston is accused of using a gun to hold up three people in distress and making off with more than a million dollars in cash and two mobile telephones. The North Coast Times had earlier this week reported the arrest of the three. 3 SUSPECTS IN ST MARY ROBBERY ARRESTED

Charged are

  • 34-year-old Alphonso Hinds, minister of religion of Olympic Way, Kingston 11;
  • 27-year-old Jermaine Small, otherwise called ‘Natty’; and
  • 70-year-old Dudley Williams, otherwise called ‘Dudus’, both of Old Golden Spring Road, Kingston 9.

Hinds has been charged with conspiracy to robbery, robbery with aggravation, possession of a prohibited weapon and using a firearm to commit a felony.

Small has been charged with receiving stolen property, while Williams has been charged with larceny by finding.

CAR BROKE DOWN

Reports from the Annotto Bay Police are that at about 5:30 a.m., on Saturday, three people were travelling in a white Toyota Axio motorcar along the Golden Valley main road in Castleton, in the parish, when the vehicle developed mechanical problems and came to a stop.

Police say the occupants reportedly exited the vehicle while the driver opened the bonnet to check the engine.

A gunman then approached the group, brandished a firearm, and proceeded to rob them of an iPhone 16, cash amounting to over one million dollars ($1,050,000), and personal documents, along with a Samsung Note Ultra cellular phone; the assailant fled the scene on foot.

A report was made to the police and, based on swift investigations, revealed that Hinds, who was initially believed to be a complainant, allegedly orchestrated the robbery.

Later that day, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., a joint operation involving members of the St Mary Operational Support Team (OST) and the St Andrew North OST was conducted along Golden Spring Road in Stony Hill, St Andrew. During the operation, Small and Williams were found in possession of the stolen items and were arrested.

They were later charged following question-and-answer sessions in the presence of their attorneys.

Court dates are being finalised for the three men.
