ST MARY MAN HELD WITH MOST OF RELATIVE’S CASH AFTER ALLEGED RUN TO NEIGHBOURING PARISH
An 18-year-old man who reportedly broke into his relative’s house and stole nearly J$900,000 has been arrested and charged. Most of the money was recovered.
He is Dwayne Williams, a labourer of Sue River, Richmond, St Mary. Williams has been charged with housebreaking and larceny following an incident in his community on Friday, January 16, 2026.

Reports from the Port Maria Police are that at about 8:30 a.m., one of Williams’ relatives securely locked her house and left. Upon her return, she observed that the door was open. Checks revealed that J$829,000 and US$300 (J$48,000 equivalent) were missing from her house. A report was made and an investigation launched.
Information gathered led to Williams being apprehended in St. Andrew. A total of J$741,490 and US$300 was found in his possession. He was subsequently charged following a question- and-answer session.
His court date is being finalized.
