AGENCIES JOIN STAFF AND STUDENTS ON  NATIONAL TREE PLANTING DAY
MONEAGUE, St Ann; Oct. 6, 2025
Faculty and students of Moneague College, St Ann, and Interested agencies engaged in tree planting along the college’s driveway and farm perimeter on Friday, October 3, 2025, National Tree Planting Day.

Those participating planted Jamaican Mahogany, Pimento and Pink Bundle (Pride of Barbados). The seedlings were provided by the Forestry Department and Pimento Growers Association.
Ahead of the planting, there were statements from Ian Wallace, Forest Manager, North West Region of the Forestry Department, and by Atsushi Nakagawa, Resident Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Jamaica.

Desmond Campbell, a vice president of the JICA Alumni Association coordinated the activities, which were also supported by the Moneague District Association of the Jamaica Teachers’ Association.
