ENFIELD, ANNOTTO BAY JOINS RICHMOND
ANNOTTO BAY, St Mary; July 16, 2025
Curfews are in effect in two areas of St Mary – Enfield in Annotto Bay, and Richmond.
The 48-hour curfew in Enfield began Tuesday, July 15, at 6 p.m. and will run until Thursday, July 17 at 6 p.m.
The area of the curfew is
North: Along a section of the Iterboreale main road near the National Water Commission (NWC) pump site extending to the Dry River Bridge.
East: From the Dry River Bridge, extending to a section of the Enfield community known as Forty-One (41).
South: From Forty-One (41) Square, extending west, along an imaginary line.
West: From the end of the imaginary line at Forty-One (41), to the starting point near the NWC pump site.
During the hours of the curfew, all persons within its boundaries are required to remain within
their premises unless otherwise authorised by the ground commander.
RICHMOND
The curfew in Richmond has been renewed several times since being first imposed on July 5, following a double murder there in a drive-by shooting at a wake. The wake was for a 21-year-old teacher killed by her policeman lover. Police said he shot himself in a suicide attempt, but was not killed and remains in hospital. He is yet to be charged.
The curfew there was extended from Monday, July 14, to Wednesday, July 16, at 6 p.m.
