2 MEN FATALLY SHOT IN ST ANN

POLICE SAY THEY WENT WITH WARRANT FOR WANTED MAN AT HOUSE IN LIME HALL

ST ANN’S BAY, St Ann; July 8, 2025

The St Ann police fatally shot two men in Lime Hall, near St Ann’s Bay, in an early morning operation on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

The police said the men fired at them and were killed. Their identities were not immediately available. One man escaped.

The fatal shooting followed a murder in that community two weeks ago and four murders in the parish between Friday night and Saturday night, July 4-5. Two of the murders took place in Parry Town, Ocho Rios, on Saturday night. A 48-hour curfew was imposed in that district, Sunday at 6 p.m..

The police said they went with a warrant to a house in Gravel Hill Lime Hall, in search of Richardo Hemmings o/c Black Oil o/c Junior o/c Chin Max, who was wanted in the St James Police Division for Shooting with Intent, among other crimes.

According to the police report sent to the North Coast Times, the police team went to a two-bedroom house and knocked on the front door. Two men emerged from the back door. One was reportedly armed with a rifle and opened gunfire at the Police.

“The police returned fire, and one fell to the ground, suffering from gunshot wounds. The other man escaped.

Members of the Police team entered the house through the said back door, and a man who was standing inside the house opened gunfire at them.

The police returned fire, and the man fell.

A .45 Taurus Pistol loaded with a magazine containing three (3) live rounds of .45 cartridges was retrieved from him.

Both men were taken to the St Ann’s Bay Hospital, where they were pronounced dead at 4:35 am

None of the police officers was injured.
