Beverly and Charles Goldson of Highgate, St Mary, celebrated 50 years of marriage on Saturday evening, June 21, 2025.
The celebration took the form of a dinner at Casa Maria Hotel, Port Maria, St Mary. It was the venue where 50 years ago they had their wedding reception in 1975, after their wedding at the Port Maria Gospel Chapel.
The marriage produced four children, three boys and a girl, and eight grandchildren. The two were educators, and Mr Goldson also ran a business. They have continued to be dedicated and devout members of the Highgate Gospel Chapel- Christian Brethren.
The celebration Saturday evening included several tributes by their children and grandchildren, cake cutting, and renewal of wedding vows. The anniversary guests included family and friends, as well as two participants from their wedding.
The entertainment segment was special, with DMG band, led by Djenné Greaves; with guitarist Phil Braithwaite from the UK, Tafawee Buchsaecab, sax; Mark-Anthony Reid, percussion. Vocalists were Stephanie Hava and Jodi Goldson daughter (Niquet).
Dr Issac Brown guided the couple in their renewal of wedding vows.
