The Portland police are investigating the death, by drowning, of a 15-year-old student of Spanish Town, St Catherine.
The boy drowned in the Swift River in Caenwood, Hope Bay, Portland on Easter Sunday.
Reports to the North Coast Times are that the boy, who has not yet been named by police, was on a trip to the river when he got into difficulties and drowned.
The police are carrying out investigations.
