COPS SAY ‘FRAUTY’ MURDER INVESTIGATION IN EARLY STAGE

OCHO RIOS, St Ann; March 26, 2025

In the midst of swirling rumours about the motive behind the murder of Samuel Dixon also known as ‘Frauty’, police say they are in the early stages of the investigation.

Reports are that the SUV he was driving came under gun attack after he entered his yard in the quiet community of Tower Isle, western St Mary. Dixon ran from the vehicle and was pursued by the men at least one of whom had a AK-47 rifle. Police recovered more than 60 shell casings. It is reported Dixon was hit at least fifteen times and died on the scene.

Reports are that the killers took nothing from Dixon’s body or from his vehicle.

A senior police officer who is not involved with the case said: “You don’t need glasses to see that’s a hit. They [killers] were told they should not come back if he was not dead.”

Unconfirmed reports are that the killing could be linked to a shooting in Ocho Rios and the murder of a businessman in Portland.

The St Mary police who are investigating told North Coast Times Wednesday morning, March 26, that there was nothing new to report but that the investigation was “moving at  pace.”

Reports about Dixon’s known business assets have set tongues wagging and led to widespread speculation and allegations in social media about the origin and source of his wealth.

Dixon, born in Portland and who in his early 20s operated taxis owned Total service station in the centre of Ocho Rios, an auto parts store, also in Ocho Rios, a car mart at White River near Ocho Rios and about five miles from where he lived. He owned two service stations in Portland and a large supermarket in Buff Bay, Portland.

Several people have told the North Coast Times of incidents in which they claim Dixon was involved.  There are also reports that a hit may have been ordered by Dixon’s enemies or someone he wronged

Police involved with the investigations have not said what line their investigations are taking.
