MAN KILLED IN ANOTHER ST MARY CRASH

POLICEMAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN  CRASH NEAR ANNOTTO BAY

ANNOTTO BAY, St Mary; March 19, 2025

One man is dead and a policeman is in critical condition following an early morning motor vehicle crash along the Agualta Vale main road in St Mary, Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

The crash took place at about 2:15, just 48 hours after another early morning collision that killed a man in the parish, Monday, March 17.

Police reports are that five people were travelling from Kingston in a 2014 Toyota Mark X. The driver lost control of the vehicle after it skidded on the roadway. The car ran off the road and one of the passengers was thrown from the vehicle. He later succumbed to his injuries at the Annotto Bay Public Hospital. Reports say he was 25 years old but there were no further details of his identity.

Another passenger, a police constable, sustained a broken arm and head injuries and remains in critical but stable condition at the hospital. The remaining occupants were treated for minor injuries and released.

MONDAY’S CRASH VICTIM IDENTIFIED

And, the man killed in a crash in St Mary on Monday morning, March 17, has been identified.

He is 30-year-old Meravo Tremane Scott, labourer of Hinds Town, St Ann. Scott was the driver of the white 2012 Toyota Corolla Axio motor car that was involved in a three-vehicle crash near Battle Site, on the Tower Isle main road, St Mary.

The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crashes and urge motorists to exercise caution on the roads, especially during late-night hours, to prevent similar tragedies.
