SCHOOL IN GALINA CLOSED FOR THE DAY

A man was found dead in a school in St Mary Tuesday morning, forcing the school to remain closed for the day.
The St. Mary Police say they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man on a school compound in Galina, near Port Maria in the parish early Tuesday, February 11.
Reports indicate that on Monday, February 10, 2025, at approximately 11:30 p.m., the watchman at the school saw a man who went to sleep in the auditorium.
About 5:50 a.m. on Tuesday, February 11, while opening the school, the watchman attempted to wake the man but received no response. When the watchman entered the auditorium, the man was found motionless on a mattress, with what appeared to be blood above his right eye.
The police were alerted.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of death.
