COPS SAY $450,000 WAS TAKEN FROM ACCOUNT THROUGH ATM

A 42-year-old woman from St Ann has been arrested and charged following accusations that she stole $450,000 from her uncle’s pension account.
Charged is 42-year-old Sherine James of Lime Hall district, St. Ann. The charges include unauthorized access to computer data and simple larceny.
Police report that the money was stolen from the account sometime between January 2023 and November 2024.
Reports from the St. Ann’s Bay Police are that between the dates mentioned above, Ms James was given an ATM card and instructed to lodge her uncle’s pension cheque to it.
Police say James withdrew $450,000 over a period without her uncle’s, (the pensioner’s) knowledge or consent.
A report was made to the police when it was discovered that the money was missing, and James was taken into custody where she was charged.
A court date is being finalized for her.
