PORTLAND’S FIRST ROAD FATALITY FOR 2025

A truck driver is dead and a passenger is in hospital following a road crash in Orange Bay, Portland, Tuesday morning, January 14, 2025.
Dead is 28-year-old driver, Kirk Kevin Gooden of Kingston.
Reports are that about 10:20 a.m., Gooden was driving a yellow Shacman K300 motor truck on the Orange Bay main road. The truck failed to negotiate a corner, overturned and crashed into a bar in the vicinity of Wharf Lane.
The driver and a passenger in the truck were taken to Annotto Bay Hospital where the driver was pronounced dead and the other man admitted.
The truck and the bar were badly damaged.
