Runaway Bay, St Ann; Dec. 15, 2024

A St Ann man was shot to death in what police sources say was an apparent hit by gunmen, Sunday Morning, near Runaway Bay.

Dead is 40-year-old Damion Livingston also called “Asian”, farmer of Mt Edgecombe, Runaway Bay, St Ann.

Livingston was shot to death as she sat among friends at a regular hangout on Derry Road, Mt Edgecombe. The spot is near the one-lane bridge at Mount Edgecombe on the main road to Runaway Bay.

Reports to the North Coast Times are that Livingston who is well-known in the community was sitting with friends on a wall,  about 8 a.m., Sunday, December 15. A white Toyota Axio motorcar drove up and two men exited, walked toward the group of men, and fired on Livingston. Others ran away and Livingston fell. The car then went further up the road, was turned around and came back to pick up the gunmen who entered it and were driven away.

The Constabulary Communications Network (CCN) reported that at about 8 a.m. Sunday loud explosions were heard and when people investigated Livingston was seen with gunshot wounds and the police were summoned.

Livingston’s father said he was saddened by the death of his first child. “Damion quiet, quiet. Everybody love him,” said Mr Livingston. “If him have him last dollar him will give it to you.”

Mr Livingston said his son was a peacemaker. “If a war or anything him is the first to quiet that down,” Mr Livingston said of his son.
