When they beat Garvey Maceo High 2-0 on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024, the Ocho Rios team created history, making it the first time that a team from the school or St Ann had reached the semi-final stage of the daCosta Cup.
On Monday, November 18, at the school, following the break on the morning shift, the team was commended for its progress in the competition. As part of the celebration teacher Kalaycia Shippy led the school in a chant for the boys. There was a showing of juggling skills as students and teachers cheered the boys. The school’s drummers were also out in what the institution considered an important celebration and marketing event.

He urged the students to encourage their parents and friends to support the team at the next stage of the competition. He said that their support had been highly valuable in the team’s progress so far.
The next assignment for the team will be their participation in the Champions Cup this weekend. They will know who they are up against at the draw taking place in Kingston on Tuesday evening, Nov. 19, 2024.
The manager for the team Eyan Kean told the North Coast Times: “The boys are highly motivated and are ready to take on any team they are drawn with.”
