TRUCK GOES OVER NEGLECTED BREAK-AWAY INTO RIVER
BROWN’S TOWN, St Ann; Oct. 21, 2024
A motorist was lucky to escape injury after the truck he was driving ran off the road and plunged down a precipice at a breakaway near Borobridge on the Laughton Town road in southwest St Ann.

North Coast Times can report that a section of Laughton Road, near the bridge at the border with Clarendon, has been deplorable for some time. Recent rains in the area made it worse and undermined the roadway. A truck transporting sand was using the road Friday night, October 18. It went over at the undermined breakaway, rolled down the embankment and turned over into the river below.
No one was injured.

Councillor for the Borobridge division, Marlene Thompson Kenyon said she was once again appealing for repairs to the road to prevent further harm to individuals and even loss of life.
