TREES TO CHANGE PORT MARIA

EVEN POLICE AND SOLDIERS GOT IN ON THE ACT

Stakeholders in the town of Port Maria, St Mary, came together on National Tree Planting Day, Friday, October 4, to help with the conservation and beautification of the town.

Staff from the St Mary Municipal Corporation (SMC) were joined by community members, personnel from the Forestry Department, Jamaica Constabulary Force, Jamaica Defence Force, One Love Outreach Pagee Fisherfolk Group, and Little Builders Faith School in planting more than 50 trees along the shoreline of Pagee.

According to the chief executive officer of the SMC Ethlyn Douglas, this initiative will continue in the town of Port Maria as a beautification project.
