ASSAULT CHARGES BROUGHT AGAINST PORTLAND BOY
PT ANTONIO, Portland; Sept 18, 2024-
Police have charged a 12-year-old boy seen in a viral video beating and kicking a schoolmate at a school in Portland.
The boy who cannot be named because he is a minor has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.
The incident occurred at a primary school in Portland on Thursday, September 12 and a video of it was widely circulated as of last weekend. The boy was charged Wednesday, Sept. 18.
In the 47-second video, the 12-year-old was seen shoving, punching, and kicking the other boy.
Following this incident, the matter was reported to the police and an investigation was launched.
The matter will be brought before the Children’s Court. However, his court date has not been finalized.
Other state agencies including the CPFSA have become involved.
