PHONE RETURNED BUT BANK CARDS STOLEN
A female American tourist was left shaken and slightly injured following a robbery incident in Ocho Rios, St Ann, on Tuesday night, May 26, 2024.

Reports are that the tourist who had arrived on the island earlier that day checked in at a hotel near Main Street, in the resort town.
Later in the evening, she had a meal at a local restaurant and was walking along the roadway when she stopped at an itinerant vendor selling curios and craft items.
The woman was attacked by the vendor and her purse with bank cards and phone taken. No weapon was used in the robbery.
She told police she was frightened and begged the thief for her phone to be returned. The hoodlum returned her phone but not the bank cards.
In her rush to get away her foot got caught on a curb wall and she fell, hitting her head.
The matter was reported to the Ocho Rios Police. It’s unclear if any attempt was made to use her bank cards.
