WOMAN, 3 MEN ARRESTED, CARS SEIZED

Police have arrested three men and a woman and seized 118 parcels of ganja in St Mary.
A police release did not give the weight or estimated value of the 118 parcels of compressed ganja.
According to a police report, a team of officers assigned to the Area 2 Narcotics Police Division seized 118 parcels of compressed ganja on the Retreat and Rio Nuevo Main Roads, in St. Mary on Thursday, April 18.
Reports are that at about 8:00 p.m., the police were conducting an operation along the mentioned roads where several vehicles were signalled to stop. A black Toyota Noah and a grey Toyota Axio sopped. However, the police say, the occupants immediately fled both vehicles.
A search of both vehicles was carried out and twenty knitted bags containing the 118 parcels of vegetable matter resembling ganja was found in the Toyota Noah.
The lawmen later intercepted a 2018 white Toyota Corolla Axio They say, based on intelligence, the Axio is said to have been the pilot vehicle. The three men and one woman aboard were arrested on Reasonable Suspicion of Breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
Investigations are ongoing.
