Delroy Kelly says he is standing beside the work he has done since 2016 as Councillor for the Moneague Division, in the St Ann Municipal Corporation.

Among the many projects are road works, from patching to drain cleaning and laying down new asphalted surfaces where there were none before. These include the Mosley Hall and Marysvale Roads. “Through my representation, there are roads where for years people couldn’t even walk properly,” Mr Kelly said.

In addition, he made representation for and facilitated a major upgrade to the Moneague Clinic, making it more comfortable for staff and patients alike.

Students have benefitted too, including those at Turnberry Primary and Infant where nearly 200 feet of walkway was laid. This provided easier access for students, especially infants, from the main building to the sanitary facilities,  preventing them from contending with mud during and after rains.

Water supplies are also a big part of the work he has done. Mr Kelly lists areas that now have regular water supply where there was none before. One of his priority items for a second term is an extension of a supply network to Blackstonedge, Dillon Town, Whitehall and as far as Turnberry. Mr Kelly says he has identified the source and the relevant agencies to help implement that project.

Mr Kelly says, in the next term as Councillor, he wants to turn his attention to Moneague town itself which needs a real progressive makeover. A proper, well-equipped market is at the top of his plans.  “The historic town needs some changes to improve its physical appeal and support the growing businesses there,” Mr Kelly says. He says he is confident that given the work he has done with support from the Ministry of Local Government, the people will return him as Councillor on February 26.

Lloyd Garrick says he is ready to recommence the development of the Moneague Division, which he served as Councillor for three terms between 2003 and 2016, in the St Ann Municipal Corporation (then Parish Council).

Mr Garrick says the experience over those years is what he will bring if elected to improve the Moneague Division, in the South East St Ann constituency. He says the Division has not advanced on the work he and others accomplished in roads, drains, water supply systems and other infrastructure needed by the people.

However, Mr Garrick says he is not put off by how much work he needs to do to provide water, roads, training and other infrastructure and facilities for people all over the Division.

“The people believe the Moneague Division needs to be rescued and we are ready to do that and build it,” he said.

Mr Garrick says he is confident that people see him as being able to help facilitate the development of communities such as Moneague, Lincoln, Clover Hill, Grierfield, Faiths Pen and others. According to him, since the 2016 Election, the lack of representation of the people and the failure to provide the infrastructure improvement that is the responsibility of the Councillor are glaring and have had a devastating effect on the Division.  Mr Garrick says he is seeking their vote to represent them once more in the St Ann Municipal Corporation. He says he is confident of victory after what many saw as a shock loss in 2016.

Mr Garrick said he has stayed with the people of the Moneague Division and is stepping forward to serve them again. As far as he sees it, there is enthusiasm for his return to continue the work. “I have never seen so much support in the other four elections I have contested. We are ready, willing and able to rescue Moneague,” he said.
