2 POLICEMEN ARRESTED, SLAIN WOMAN’S PARTNER BEING SOUGHT
More details have become available about two deaths in St Ann between Friday and Saturday, January 26-27. The two killed have been identified.
Dead are 30-year-old Tajay Simms, of Barclay Town, Gayle St Mary, and 44-year-old Kamika Harley also called ‘Big Red’ of Charles Town, St Ann’s Bay, St Ann.
Two policemen and five other men, from the Gayle area have been arrested in relation to the death of Simms.
Simms was shot dead in Mother’s Restaurant in Ocho Rios, about 2 a.m. Saturday, January 27.
Reports are that a dispute developed between Simms and another man over their place in a line in the restaurant. Other friends of the man intervened and the dispute got more heated and physical. One of the men left the restaurant and returned with a gun and shot Simms.
He was pronounced dead at hospital.
The shooter and his friends fled the restaurant, leaving in a Toyota Axio motorcar. People on the scene wrote down the registration number (licence plate) of the car. Police also were able to retrieve CCTV footage from the restaurant, to assist their investigations. They arrested the two police officers and five of their friends.
WOMAN SLAIN
In the other incident, police are seeking the partner of Ms Harley who they say can assist in their investigation of the woman’s death.
Harley was last seen on Thursday but it is believed she was killed between Friday and Saturday morning when her body was discovered. 
She was found in her bed, wrapped in a bloodied sheet. Her son who last saw her Thursday, January 25, made the discovery
The dead man is unidentified.
In the other incident, reports are that a woman was found with stab wounds in her home in Marley, Windsor near St Ann’s Bay on Saturday morning. She has been identified only as Big Red, believed to be in her thirties. Area residents believe a domestic dispute led to her death sometime between late Friday night and Saturday morning.
Checks with the police information division, the Constabulary Communication Unit (CCU) turned up no official report on either of the incidents. -30-
